  • Presidency has confirmed that there was an attempt to burgle Chief Of Staff’s quarters.

 

Presidency has confirmed that there was an attempt to burgle the residence of the President’s Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.

An online newspaper, People’s Gazette, had reported that the home of the Chief of Staff and that of the President’s Admin Officer, Abubakar Maikano, were robbed on Sunday night.

Earlier, the Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad had denied it, tagging it as a fake news.

He tweeted: “An exclusive FAKE NEWS from this news blog, that is what is expected from you, fake news and more fake news.”

In a statement by presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, he said the attempt was ‘unsuccessful’.

The statement read:

“The Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari has confirmed that there ‘was a foolish attempt’ to burgle his residence at 3:00am this morning but it turned out to be unsuccessful.

“Professor Gambari, whose house is on a street next to the Villa has assured that there is nothing to worry about from the incident.”
