EKO HOT BLOG reports that the initiative, tagged the Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS), provides financial aid of ₦50,000 to micro-enterprises operating at the local government level across the country. The programme is designed to help very small businesses remain afloat, expand, and create jobs in their communities.
Beneficiaries are expected to apply the funds to strengthen their operations and employ at least one additional person, thereby stimulating grassroots economic growth.
The grant will support a wide range of projects, including technology upgrades, market expansion, capacity building, and other activities aimed at improving business competitiveness. Selected entrepreneurs will also undergo monitoring and evaluation to ensure proper use of the funds.
According to SMEDAN, the scheme places priority on women, youths, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and other vulnerable groups, with women and youths forming the largest share of beneficiaries.

Interested applicants are required to apply through designated online portals or government offices by submitting relevant documentation and project proposals in line with the guidelines.
The programme reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to ease access to funding for small businesses and promote sustainable economic development at the grassroots.
