Security forces in Benue State successfully repelled an armed attack on Ukohol, a community in Yelewata district of Guma Local Government Area, on Sunday.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the attackers targeted the village in what is believed to be retaliation for the arrest of one of their members the previous day.

The Divisional Police Officer in Daudu coordinated a joint response team composed of the Special Intervention Squad, Police Mobile Force, Operation Zenda, and the Counter Terrorism Unit. The team engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle.
Overpowered by the superior firepower of the security forces, the bandits eventually withdrew.

Residents caught in the attack were safely evacuated, with authorities confirming that all but one individual escaped unharmed.
Police sources added that a search-and-rescue operation, including combing the bush, has been launched to track the fleeing attackers and locate the missing person.
