He urged soldiers to remain resolute, professional, and uncompromising in their mission to eliminate criminal networks.
The visit, documented in a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Samaila Uba, served as a morale booster for personnel on the ground.
General Oluyede assured the troops that the high command is actively working to provide better operational equipment, specialized training, and strengthened air coordination to ensure the military maintains the upper hand.
“The safety of our citizens rests on our shoulders,” the CDS declared during his interaction with the troops. “You must go after these criminals until they are eliminated.”

While in Zamfara, General Oluyede held a strategic meeting with Governor Dauda Lawal.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s support for the Armed Forces, noting that the peace of the entire North-West depends on the success of operations within Zamfara.
The CDS highlighted that while military force is essential, local intelligence sharing remains the linchpin of successful counter-insurgency.
Operation Fansan Yamma was specifically designed to tackle the unique security challenges of the North-West, where kidnapping and rural raids have displaced thousands over the last few years.
