The Ndiolumbe autonomous community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State has been thrown into mourning following the killing of an indigene, Ukaegbu Ogii, by a kinsman, Okwudili Mbama.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Mbama, popularly known as Nkume, allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck over accusations that Ogii was having an extra marital relationship with his wife, Mercy Mbama.

A community source said the suspect, who hails from Umuota village in Ndiolumbe, fled immediately after the incident to evade arrest.
The source further revealed that the suspect had earlier attacked the deceased weeks before, inflicting a head injury over the same allegation despite intervention by community leaders.
The killing has heightened tension within the community, with residents expressing shock over the development.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, said the case was reported at the Omoba Police Division on April 5 by the suspect’s wife.

According to her, detectives visited the scene and rushed the victim to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
She added that the corpse has been deposited in a morgue for autopsy, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
