A Magistrate Court sitting in Ilesa, Osun State, has ruled in favor of Eru Dupe, ordering his girlfriend, Rhoda Adu, to pay him a total sum of ₦150,000.
The judgment came after Rhoda collected ₦3,000 from Eru as transport fare but failed to visit him as she had promised.
The incident began when Eru, out of trust and goodwill, transferred ₦3,000 to Rhoda to cover her transport expenses to visit him. However, instead of keeping her promise, Rhoda switched off her phone and failed to show up, leaving Eru feeling both betrayed and defrauded.

Unable to reach her and feeling hurt by the situation, Eru decided to report the matter to the Ayeso Police Station, where a formal complaint was filed.
Following police intervention, Rhoda was arrested and brought before the court to answer for her actions.
During the court proceedings, Eru presented substantial evidence to back his claims. He provided proof of the bank transfer used to send the ₦3,000 and shared WhatsApp messages exchanged between him and Rhoda, which clearly showed her agreement to visit him.
The evidence convinced the court that Rhoda had no intention of fulfilling her promise and had acted dishonestly.
In her ruling, Magistrate Akogun Oludare condemned Rhoda’s actions, describing them as deceitful and unacceptable.
The magistrate ordered Rhoda to refund the ₦3,000 transport fare to Eru. Additionally, she was instructed to pay ₦100,000 as compensation for breaching the agreement and another ₦50,000 for the emotional distress her actions caused.
Magistrate Oludare emphasized that the ruling should serve as a deterrent to others who might engage in similar behavior, highlighting the importance of honesty and accountability in relationships.
After the ruling, Eru expressed his gratitude to the court for delivering justice. He shared that the experience had caused him emotional pain but was relieved that the court recognized his plight and acted fairly. Rhoda, on the other hand, was sternly admonished for her behavior and warned against repeating such conduct in the future.
