Dangote Cement Plc, Ibese Plant, has announced a ₦15.7 million scholarship package for students drawn from its host communities in Ibese, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the scholarship scheme, unveiled during the company’s annual Community Day celebration, will support 120 beneficiaries, including undergraduates as well as pupils from primary and secondary schools across 17 host communities.

Speaking at the event, Head of Social Performance at Dangote Cement, Mr. Demola Ojolowo, disclosed that the company had completed 13 community development projects this year, with 10 others currently ongoing.

He said the initiatives span education, health, skills acquisition, women empowerment, agricultural support and infrastructure development, including the installation of solar-powered facilities.
Ojolowo explained that the company’s social investment efforts are guided by its Community Development Agreement, aimed at complementing government programmes and delivering sustainable benefits to host communities.
Plant Director Ayyagari Subbaraidu, represented by Chief General Manager of Maintenance, Hemant Dave, described the Community Day as a platform for strengthening engagement and accountability between the company and its stakeholders.

He noted that Dangote Cement’s corporate philosophy extends beyond production to fostering inclusion, partnership and shared progress with host communities.
Stakeholders at the event, including Ogun State lawmakers and traditional leaders, commended the company’s commitment to development, while also calling for continued attention to community concerns.
