Police disclosed that the suspects were preparing to unveil a supposed N1.5 billion “Palace of the Obi of Lagos State” on September 13 at Amuwo Odofin.
According to the Lagos Police Command’s Deputy Spokesperson, Babaseyi Oluseyi, the police, acting on credible intelligence, moved swiftly to shut down the venue to prevent public misinformation and maintain law and order.

“The Command deployed sufficient officers including conventional operatives, Eko Strike Force units, and tactical teams to ensure that the planned event did not hold,” Oluseyi said.
“This was a preventive measure to avoid any possible breach of peace and to protect the public from being deceived.”
The suspects are currently in custody at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja and are expected to face charges upon the completion of investigations.
Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, warned Lagosians to remain alert and law-abiding. He stressed that acts such as this could jeopardise public peace and will not be tolerated.
“The Command will continue to uphold the law with firmness and ensure that no individual or group engages in actions that threaten public order, the legal system, or the integrity of the state,” the CP stated.
