EKO HOT BLOG reports that despite recent interventions, rates at the parallel market and official windows still reflect a wide gap, shaping trading behaviour nationwide.
At the Lagos black market, Bureau De Change operators confirmed that traders are selling the dollar at ₦1475 and buying at ₦1465, the same range recorded on Thursday, December 4. These rates remain outside the official band, and the Central Bank of Nigeria advises all Forex seekers to transact through authorised financial institutions.
Dollar to Naira Black Market and CBN Rates Today

Buying Rate ₦1465 ₦1446
At the official window, the naira traded between ₦1446 and ₦1450, according to figures available from the CBN. The bank continues to caution that the parallel market is not recognised for official transactions, urging individuals and businesses to rely on regulated channels for transparency and protection.

Buyers and sellers are therefore advised to verify prices before completing transactions, as figures differ depending on market conditions and availability of dollars.
