Iyabo stressed that purposeful parenting requires conscious effort and faith, urging mothers to avoid transferring their pain or trauma to the next generation.
She advised women to affirm positive declarations, break negative thought cycles, and lead lives that reflect healing, peace, and intentional growth.
The mother of two said many women unknowingly extend their personal struggles to their children, thus continuing harmful family patterns.
“Sometimes you need to sacrifice so much for your children,” she said during her speech, drawing nods of agreement from the audience.

She noted that while parenting involves hard choices, mothers must ensure their decisions don’t become burdens for their children to carry in the future.
“For me to be here today, to have this baby, I made that decision and whatever comes out of it, good or bad, it is not a burden for my children to carry,” she said.
Iyabo further explained the concept of ancestral curses, saying such patterns cannot be broken if one continues to embody them in their actions.
“You cannot break it if you are leading it,” she added, noting that true healing starts when a person refuses to pass down pain to their offspring.
“For you to break, you must stop it and end it,” the actress concluded, urging women to be the ones to draw the line and choose a better path forward.
Her message has since gone viral on social media, resonating with many who praised her courage to speak openly about generational healing.
