EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking to journalists on Sunday after visiting President Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu insisted there was no justifiable reason for a protest at this time.
He stressed that Tinubu’s policies were in the country’s best interest and are already yielding positive signals.
“We are hearing that some people want to protest on June 12. What will be the basis? We are engaging them, we are talking to them,” Sanwo-Olu said. “In two years, give this president more time. The economy has made a positive bend. All we need to do is to continue to wish him well and see those effects become reality in the cost of goods, cost of living, and security of lives and property.”
The Governor added that Tinubu’s administration is laying the groundwork for long-term transformation, and the impact will become visible across all sectors within two years.
His remarks come amid plans by the Take It Back Movement to stage nationwide protests on June 12 to highlight Nigeria’s worsening security, economic hardship, and erosion of civic freedoms.
