Don’t Write Super Eagles Off At AFCON-Rohr
Despite justifying Nigeria’s defeat against Nations Cup debutants, Madagascar over the weekend, Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, doesn’t want people to write off his team just yet.
According to the German tactician, his men have all it takes to go all the way in Egypt in spite of the being overrun and beating to the group by a team featuring in the tournament for the first time.
“I’m very confident because everybody is now fit, only Shehu perhaps who is not fit yet,” Rohr told Goal, adding: “We recovered Collins our left back and we would be able to draft Ndidi into the middle after getting 45 minutes of rest.
“Iwobi is also fit and with Ighalo and Musa, we’ll have more rhythm in the offensive department.”
The Super Eagles, considered one of the tournament favourites, were shocked 2-0 with goals from Lalaina Nomenjanahary and Carolus Andriamatsinoro.
