The arrest comes amid growing concerns over repeated acts of vandalism targeting electrical installations in the region, posing a serious threat to the recently restored electricity supply.

A security officer involved in the operation, who requested anonymity, disclosed that the suspects were caught in the act, attempting to cart away valuable cables.
“We have been monitoring their activities, and today, we finally caught them red-handed. They will face the full weight of the law,” the officer said.

Residents have expressed relief following the arrests, acknowledging the efforts of the security task force. A local trader, Mrs. Funke Oladapo, lamented the effects of past vandalism.
“Each time they cut these cables, we suffer days or weeks without electricity. It affects our businesses and daily lives. We are happy that action is being taken,” she said.
