Regional leaders arrived in Nigeria ahead of the summit, which is being chaired by the President of Sierra Leone and current ECOWAS Authority Chairman, Julius Maada Bio.
In a statement shared on his official X account, Bio expressed optimism about the deliberations, noting that urgent regional challenges would take centre stage.

Key agenda items include security developments, mediation efforts, Guinea’s political transition, and a review of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalisation Scheme.
The summit is expected to end with the adoption of a final communiqué and a joint press briefing.
