The Honourable Minister for Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has been officially installed as a member of Epe Club, the Premier Club of Epe Division, during a grand ceremony held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Regency Hall, Otunba Jobi-Fele Way, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr. Alausa was presented with a certificate of membership and the club’s identity cap, marking his formal induction into the elite association.
The installation was conducted by Professor Onibon, former Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University of Education.
Explaining the significance of the induction, Prof. Onibon noted that Epe Club is home to many prominent personalities across Lagos State and beyond, including past and present Governors of Lagos State, members of the House of Representatives, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, local government chairmen, accomplished professionals, and successful businessmen.
Responding after his installation, Dr. Alausa expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the club, describing the honour as deeply meaningful.
“I am deeply honoured to be officially installed as a member of Epe Club, a body that represents leadership, unity, and service to humanity.”

Dr. Alausa, also assured members of his commitment to the ideals of the club, promising to play his quota in sustaining and advancing the values of growth, unity, and excellence which the club upholds, while supporting initiatives that promote leadership development, education, and community progress across Epe Division and Lagos State
He commended the club for sustaining its relevance over the years and for its deliberate effort to celebrate leaders who have made lasting impacts while alive.

The installation took place during a ceremony organised by Epe Club to celebrate and immortalise one of its most distinguished leaders, Alhaji (Chief) Shakiru Akanni Seriki Bamu (GCEC).
The event attracted political leaders, royal fathers, captains of industry, and prominent stakeholders from across Lagos State and beyond.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, was represented by the Chief of Staff, while the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly represented the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
In his welcome address, the President of Epe Club, Chief Olayemi Dada, FCA, described the occasion as historic.
“Today’s celebration is not a mere ceremony; it is a tribute to a life of sacrifice, courage, and unwavering commitment to the growth of Epe Division.”
He described the celebrant as a mentor and builder of leaders who invested in people long before youth participation in governance became mainstream.
“Alhaji Seriki Bamu is not just a leader; he is a builder of leaders who believed in people when others doubted them.”
The lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji, praised the celebrant for laying a strong foundation for leadership in the division.
“Baba Bamu laid the foundation for responsible leadership in Epe Division, and many of us in public service today are beneficiaries of his guidance and discipline.”
As part of the ceremony, Epe Club formally launched a facility named after Alhaji (Chief) Shakiru Akanni Seriki Bamu, cementing his legacy within the history of the club and Epe Division.
The event featured a documentary on the life and legacy of the celebrant, cultural performances, goodwill messages, and musical renditions, underscoring the club’s commitment to leadership, unity, and community development.
