“At the heart of this agenda is a commitment to modernize service delivery, enhance efficiency and expand accessibility for every Nigerian in the diaspora,” Jidda said. “We are not unmindful of the frustrations citizens have endured in the past, from long waiting times to bureaucratic bottlenecks.”
He explained that the administration has embraced reforms to streamline passport issuance, decentralize National Identification Number enrollment and upgrade digital platforms for greater transparency.
He also highlighted the rollout of mobile consular services designed to take government services directly to Nigerian communities across the United States.

“The vision is clear. Access to consular services should no longer be a burden to Nigerians,” the Consul General emphasized, assuring that his office remains open, responsive and committed to working with diaspora organizations.
Jidda urged Nigerians abroad to remain good ambassadors by respecting the laws of their host nations while engaging in community development projects.
He praised Eko Club International for its 25 years of cultural preservation, community service and contributions to Lagos State and Nigeria, describing the association as a model of diaspora driven development that aligns with President Tinubu’s vision.
“You can almost tell a Lagosian the first time you meet them,” he said. “There is a natural swagger that points them out, not out of pride but a Lagos spirit without apology.”
The Ambassador noted that Lagos has become Africa’s gateway for business, technology and entertainment, a role reinforced by Governor Babajide Sanwo Olu’s innovation agenda and diaspora partnerships.
He stressed that organizations like ECI provide the platform for Nigerians abroad to connect back home, mobilize resources and drive investments that complement national reforms.
“On this historic occasion, I warmly congratulate Eko Club International at 25,” he concluded. “May this milestone mark the beginning of greater strength, unity and service to humanity. God bless Eko Club International, God bless Lagos State and God bless Nigeria.”
