Emma Powerful, IPOB’s spokesperson, was reacting to rumors that Nnamdi Kanu had been dismissed as the organization’s head on Thursday morning.
According to media reports, detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has been replaced as leader by Sofia Chinyere Kalu, the IPOB United Kingdom (UK) National Financial Secretary.
Those behind the accusation were condemned by Powerful as “gossip mongers” who had no grasp of IPOB’s hierarchy.
“They replaced him with who? Don’t mind these gossips who don’t know what is happening in IPOB hierarchy.
“IPOB is a decent and disciplined movement, and they will never in their life know how operational strategy works.
“There is no other leader we have except Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and no other person fits that position.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu remains our leader in IPOB no matter any condition.
“Anybody who claims to be the new leader of IPOB should come out openly and do the work of a leader in IPOB.
“We are waiting for them”, he said.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are the original inhabitants and owners of Biafra and Biafraland, with centuries of history and ancient cultural links. They are currently located in Nigeria’s South East, some sections of the South South, and the Middle Belt. The Hausa-Fulani-controlled Nigerian establishment has enslaved them through occupation, service, and modern-day slavery.
