The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, CON, on Friday commissioned and formally handed over major educational infrastructure projects at Epe Grammar School, Epe, and Temu Community Senior Secondary School, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Lagos State, with the projects being felicitated by the Member representing Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji.

Eko Hot Blog reports that speaking as the Guest of Honour, Dr. Alausa described the event as historic and deeply personal, noting that Epe remains his home and a community that shaped his values and passion for service.
He said the commissioning reflected the power of visionary leadership and collaboration in driving educational and national development.
“This occasion is not only significant for the schools and communities we celebrate today, but also profoundly meaningful to me personally, as Epe is my home, my roots, and my heritage,” Dr. Alausa said.
The Minister commended Hon. Wale Raji for facilitating and felicitating the projects, describing them as practical, people-oriented interventions rather than symbolic gestures. According to him, the facilities directly address the needs of students, teachers, and school administrators.
“Honourable Wale Raji has demonstrated that effective representation is about translating public trust into tangible impact,” he stated.
The commissioned projects include new hostels, modern classrooms, staff quarters, ICT centres, and a mini stadium, all designed to create a conducive and holistic learning environment.
Dr. Alausa noted that the facilities would enhance academic performance, discipline, safety, and overall student development.
“These interventions create an ecosystem where learners can thrive academically, socially, and morally,” he said, adding that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, which prioritises education and human capital development.
As part of the ceremony, a novelty football match was held between Team Wale Raji and Team Tunji Alausa at the newly provided sporting facility.
The keenly contested match ended in a draw during regulation time, before Team Wale Raji emerged victorious via penalties, drawing cheers from students and community members.
In a further show of encouragement and support, each member of both teams was rewarded with a cash prize of one million naira, a gesture that added colour and excitement to the event.
Dr. Alausa also applauded the decision to honour distinguished individuals through the naming of selected facilities, noting that it sends a strong message to students about the value of service, integrity, and commitment to community.
In his closing remarks, the Minister of the Federal Ministry of Education’s commitment to partnerships that ensure every Nigerian child has access to safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments.
He urged stakeholders to maintain and effectively utilise the facilities for the benefit of present and future generations.
“May these facilities be well maintained, effectively utilized, and serve as enduring legacies of progress for generations to come,” he said.
