The Executive Members of the Epe Division Baales-in-Council have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting grassroots development and promoting civic participation ahead of the forthcoming elections, pledging to spearhead voter awareness campaigns across their communities.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the pledge was made during the council’s meeting held on Monday, June 29, 2026, where the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo.
Delivering the Chairman’s goodwill message, Adebanjo commended the traditional rulers for their continued collaboration with the local government in fostering peace, stability, and community development.
Speaking on behalf of the Baales, the Chairman of the Epe Division Baales-in-Council, High Chief Adewale Rosilulahi Oluwa, applauded Hon. Olowa for his unwavering support for traditional institutions, noting that the administration has consistently recognised the important role of traditional leaders in grassroots governance and social cohesion.
“We appreciate the continuous support and respect that Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has shown to traditional institutions. His administration has demonstrated that community development is best achieved when traditional rulers are carried along, and we remain committed to supporting his developmental agenda,” High Chief Oluwa said.
He assured the local government of the Baales’ readiness to continue partnering with the administration in initiatives that promote peace, unity, and sustainable development across Epe Division.
Responding on behalf of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adebanjo appealed to the traditional rulers to sustain their support, especially as the Baales-in-Council prepares to embark on a comprehensive sensitisation campaign encouraging eligible residents to register, collect, and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
“The success of any democratic process depends on the active participation of the people. We urge our traditional rulers to mobilise residents within their communities to obtain their PVCs and participate actively in the electoral process,” Adebanjo stated.
He described the PVC campaign as a vital civic responsibility capable of strengthening democracy and ensuring greater participation in the forthcoming elections.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by the Baales to work closely with the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government in promoting voter education, community engagement, and inclusive grassroots development across Epe Division.
