Epe town is set to come alive once again as preparations intensify for the much-anticipated Epe Kayokayo Festival 2025, a vibrant cultural and spiritual celebration that commemorates the migration of King Kosoko and his followers to Epe in 1851.
Ekohotblog reports that slated to run from Friday, July 18 to Saturday, July 26, 2025, the festival will kick off with a Press Conference at the 1st Epe Central Mosque, Okebalogun, where organizers will unveil this year’s festival vision.

The day will end with a Tahajud session, a midnight congregational prayer, reinforcing the festival’s deep Islamic roots.
This year’s edition, themed around unity, youth development, and cultural preservation, will feature a blend of activities aimed at various segments of the community.
From Islamic lectures, Quranic quiz competitions, and a Medical Mission, to Youth Day, a Job Fair, and the exciting Kayokayo Food Festival, the festival promises to be both enlightening and entertaining.
On Saturday, July 19, the festival officially opens with an Islamic Lecture and Quiz Competition at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Mosque, followed by the first round of the Job Fair and the traditional Lightening of the Etufu (cultural bonfire) at Marina Waterfront by 6:00 p.m.
Sport lovers will also be treated to a Football Novelty Match on Monday, July 21, as Royal Bundle squares off with the Epe Stakeholders Forum at the Senator Tokunbo Abiru Stadium, LASU Road, Epe, by 3:00 p.m.
One of the standout days is Tuesday, July 22, marked as Epe Youth Day, featuring a youth march, empowerment sessions, and interactive activities.
On Wednesday, July 23, children will take center stage at the Epe Children’s Party and Fashion Show, while Thursday, July 24, will showcase local culinary delights during the Kayokayo Food Festival and Street Feeding at Epe Ogunmodede Club House.
The week-long celebration will culminate in a Grand Finale on Saturday, July 26, at Marina Waterfront. The day’s activities will include the Royal Procession, Carnival Display, Special Prayers, Scholarship Award Ceremony for Indigent Students, and a spectacular cultural showcase led by Fuji maestro, King Sulaimon Alao Adekunle Malaika.
