A 300 level student of the University of Port Harcourt, identified as Cynthia Chukwundah and currently pregnant, has allegedly set her 32 year old boyfriend, Sunny Amadi, on fire.
He was also the father of her unborn child.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident has left residents of the university community in Choba, Rivers State, in shock and mourning.

The Rivers State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe Koko, confirmed the event in a statement issued yesterday.
While the exact details surrounding the incident remain unclear, some eyewitnesses in the area believe it may have stemmed from a disagreement between the duo.
According to local residents, Cynthia fled the scene immediately after the act but was later apprehended by the police.

Amadi was taken by neighbors to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital for medical attention but unfortunately died shortly after arrival.
Explaining the details of the tragic incident, Iringe-Koko said, “The Rivers State Police Command is aware of and deeply concerned about the report depicting a fire incident that occurred at No. 11B Okoro Street, Choba, Port Harcourt.
“The probable cause of the fire incident is yet to be ascertained, and a thorough investigation has been launched to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further developments will be made public as more information becomes available.”
