In a move to end the age-long challenge of water scarcity in Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has launched a transformative initiative, the Solar Energy Borehole Project, aimed at providing clean and sustainable water to all communities within the LCDA.
Ekohotblog reports that the bold project, which is both people-centered and environmentally conscious, leverages solar energy to power boreholes, ensuring a reliable and uninterrupted water supply.

So far, six communities have been earmarked in the current phase of implementation:
Odo-Iragunshin: Completed and already delivering water to residents
Ibonwon and Odomola (Kula Nla): Construction is actively ongoing
Igbooye, Poka, and Iraye: Work is set to commence immediately after the Sallah holiday
Speaking on the initiative, Hon. Monsuru Akinloye reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development:
“No community will be left behind. Every ward in Eredo LCDA will feel the impact of this life-changing initiative.
We are not just providing water; we are improving health, promoting hygiene, and securing a better future for our people.”
The project marks a significant stride toward sustainable development, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change by utilizing renewable energy.
