The Ayetoro Heritage Market witnessed a historic moment on Tuesday as the Member, House of Representatives for Epe Federal Constituency, Hon. Wale Raji, commissioned 360 newly constructed lock-up shops, marking another milestone in his commitment to strengthening grassroots commerce across the division.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Hon. Wale Raji expressed deep appreciation to political, traditional, and community leaders for their unrelenting support, giving special recognition to Epe Divisional Leader, Alhaji Sakiru Akanni Seriki (Bamu), whom he described as “a backbone whose guidance and support have remained invaluable.”
He assured traders that the shops were allocated fairly and free of charge.
According to him, “This project is for everyone. The shops have been allocated to the right people, and more are still coming. It will definitely go round.”
Raji also highlighted similar market developments across the Epe Division, including 120 shops at Mojoda Market in Eredo, 120 shops at Itokin Market in Ikosi-Ejinrin, 80 shops at Pobo Market, 48 shops at Odo Egiri, and 120 shops at Mowowale Market,all given to market women at no cost.
The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, recalled the difficult period when the old Ayetoro Market was demolished, noting that many feared the market was gone forever.
“When the market was demolished, many thought that was the end. But we fought tirelessly, and today we are witnessing a rebirth,” she said.
She added that she completed the first phase of the reconstruction during her early service years, after which Hon. Wale Raji took up the second phase, affirming that the local government will embark on the third phase soon. She urged market women to maintain cleanliness and safeguard the market.
The event attracted top dignitaries, including the Paramount Ruler and Oloja of Epe Land, HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and divisional leader, Alhaji Seriki Bamu.
The monarch praised Hon. Wale Raji for his developmental strides.
“Hon. Wale Raji has shown true commitment to the progress of Epe Division. These projects will uplift families and strengthen our economy,” Oba Animashaun said.
APC Lagos State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, also commended the MHR and other APC leaders across Epe Division for their dedication and consistent performance.
“I am really proud of our APC representatives. They are performing, and Hon. Wale Raji stands out for his commitment and the results we see today,” Ojelabi stated.
Similarly, Alhaji Seriki Bamu applauded Raji’s commitment to service.
“This project reflects genuine love for the people. Hon. Wale Raji has once again shown that leadership is service,” he said.
