- Wike had paid homage to President Tinubu during the sallah Celebration amid ill health rumor
- He attributed them to individuals seeking to score cheap political points
- Some of them who said, I will die, I can assure you that I will write their condolence letter.
On Thursday, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, refuted social media claims that he collapsed during an event last week.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the former Governor of Rivers State made this statement following an inspection of four ongoing projects in the FCT, including the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Addressing the rumors, Wike attributed them to individuals seeking to score cheap political points and divert attention from recent revelations made by the immediate past Rivers Head of Service, George Nwaeke.
Nwaeke had spoken about the explosion at the Rivers State House of Assembly, which Wike believes to be a politically-motivated incident.
He said, “I don’t want to give credence to people who are only interested in carrying rumour. First of all, I’m a human being; it’s not a ghost that will collapse; it’s a human being that will collapse if there is any issue with their health. Unfortunately, I did not collapse.
“Everybody will die one day; nobody will remain forever, but it is only God that can tell you when you will die, not human beings.
“Some of them who said, I will die, I can assure you that I will write their condolence letter.”

Wike’s statement came on Thursday, following his inspection of ongoing projects in Abuja.
Wike’s refutation is further supported by his recent public appearance during a Sallah homage to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, where he appeared to be in good spirits.
