EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Ezeh, confirmed the development on Sunday, noting that over 8,000 staff members across the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Federal Capital Development Authority will participate.
According to Ezeh, the examinations, approved by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, will begin on Tuesday, November 25, and run until Saturday, November 29, 2025. The assessments will be held at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road, Abuja, and will be conducted using a Computer-Based Test format.
He said, “More than 8,000 civil servants in the Federal Capital Territory Administration will sit promotion examinations this week. The promotion examinations are scheduled to hold for five days, starting from Tuesday, November 25 to Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the National Open University Study Centre along Kubwa Road, Abuja.”
The latest exercise concludes the 2024 promotion cycle earlier approved by the FCT Minister. Ezeh noted that the minister approved the commission’s request to fast-track the process as part of ongoing efforts to enhance staff motivation and resolve pending promotion matters.
The Commission explained that the adoption of the Computer-Based Test method aligns with the FCT Administration’s shift toward a digital system for promotions. The statement added that the digital platform was previously introduced and approved by the FCT Minister as part of wider reforms.
Recall that on August 26, 2025, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communication and News Media, Lere Olayinka, announced the release of results for the first-ever Computer-Based Promotion Examination conducted on August 12, 2025. According to him, 49 deputy directors were promoted to the rank of director across multiple departments after approval by Minister Wike.

He noted that the earlier exercise was designed to clear promotion arrears from 2023 to 2025 for officers on Grade Level 16.
