Former Senior Pastor of the City of David Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, has reportedly launched a new ministry called Family Fellowship in Lagos State.
This development follows his suspension from the RCCG in June 2024, a decision that shook the church and its congregation.

Iluyomade, who was also the head of the RCCG Apapa Family, was suspended by the church’s Governing Council after a series of allegations surfaced.
Sources close to the situation revealed that a panel was set up to investigate these allegations, which included concerns about his conduct and the management of the parish.
The suspension occurred in the wake of public criticism surrounding an extravagant birthday celebration held for Iluyomade’s wife shortly after the passing of Herbert Wigwe, the late Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings.
The decision to suspend Iluyomade came as a response to the backlash against what some considered an inappropriate display of wealth during a time of mourning.
According to a senior pastor at RCCG, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the extravagant nature of the event led to significant public outcry, prompting the Governing Council to take action.
Despite his suspension, Pastor Iluyomade has remained resilient, continuing his ministry efforts with the establishment of Family Fellowship.
A video that has since gone viral on social media shows him dancing joyfully with members of his new congregation, signaling the beginning of a new chapter in his ministry after parting ways with RCCG.
Iluyomade was known for his dynamic leadership and impactful preaching during his time at City of David Parish, one of the most prominent branches of RCCG.
