Representing the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Director of Technology and Science Education, Mrs. Patricia Ogungbemi, monitored the examination and encouraged candidates to consider technical and vocational education as a viable pathway to self-reliance, entrepreneurship and employment.
She noted that technical colleges provide students with practical and industry-relevant skills that can help them create jobs, drive innovation and contribute meaningfully to national development.
According to her, graduates of technical colleges also benefit from various government-supported initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth and job creation.
A key highlight of this year’s exercise was the pilot Computer-Based Test conducted by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) immediately after the conventional examination.
The pilot programme was designed to assess the preparedness of candidates and examination bodies ahead of a future transition to a fully computer-based examination system.
The Federal Government said the successful conduct of both the paper-based examination and the CBT pilot demonstrates its commitment to improving assessment standards, enhancing examination integrity and advancing digital transformation within the education sector.

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening technical and vocational education as part of broader efforts to equip young Nigerians with skills needed for the modern workforce.
