EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Federal Government had announced an increase in corps members’ monthly stipends from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000 in September 2024. However, despite widespread public outcry over the delay, the new payment structure has yet to be fully implemented.

Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, assured that serving corps members, as well as those who completed their service after the increment was announced, would receive their backdated payments.

“The backlog, we will work on it and make sure it is paid. It may not be immediate, but it will happen,” Olawande stated.
