The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has distributed a total of ₦1.969 trillion as revenue generated in December 2025 to the Federal Government, state governments, and local government councils.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the allocation was made during the January 2026 FAAC meeting held in Abuja, according to a statement issued by the Director of Press at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa.

The total distributable revenue comprised ₦1.084 trillion from statutory revenue, ₦846.507 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and ₦38.110 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
The amount shared represents an increase compared to the ₦1.928 trillion distributed in November 2025.
FAAC disclosed that the total gross revenue available for distribution in December stood at ₦2.585 trillion. From this figure, ₦104.697 billion was deducted as the cost of collection, while ₦511.585 billion went into transfers, refunds, and savings.
According to the communiqué, gross statutory revenue for December was ₦1.631 trillion, reflecting a drop of ₦105.202 billion compared to the ₦1.736 trillion recorded in November.
However, VAT performance improved significantly, with ₦913.957 billion generated in December, up from ₦563.042 billion in the preceding month, an increase of ₦350.915 billion.
From the total distributable revenue of ₦1.969 trillion, the Federal Government received ₦653.500 billion, while state governments got ₦706.469 billion. The local government councils received ₦513.272 billion, and ₦96.083 billion representing 13 per cent derivation revenue was allocated to mineral-producing states.

Breaking down the statutory revenue distribution of ₦1.084 trillion, the Federal Government received ₦520.807 billion, states received ₦264.160 billion, and local governments got ₦203.656 billion, alongside the ₦96.083 billion derivation allocation.
From the ₦846.507 billion VAT pool, the Federal Government received ₦126.976 billion, states got ₦423.254 billion, and local governments received ₦296.277 billion.
The ₦38.110 billion EMTL revenue was shared with ₦5.717 billion going to the Federal Government, ₦19.055 billion to the states, and ₦13.338 billion to local councils.
FAAC noted that revenue from Companies Income Tax (CIT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Stamp Duties, Import Duty, and VAT recorded significant increases during the month. In contrast, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT), Hydrocarbon Tax (HT), Excise Duty, and EMTL witnessed notable declines, while Oil and Gas Royalty and CET Levies rose marginally.
