A residential building in Iseyin, located within the Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, was destroyed by fire on Thursday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Iseyin is one of the local government areas in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone of the state.

The incident occurred around 4:00 pm at Atake, Adebo area in Oja-Oba, Iseyin. Properties worth millions of naira were lost in the inferno, although no casualties were recorded.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident in a statement made available on Friday. He explained that the fire was caused by an electrical surge.

According to Akinwande, the agency received a distress call at exactly 4:04 pm on Thursday. Officers, led by ACFS Azeez Muritala, were immediately mobilised to the scene. On arrival, they found an ancient residential building with an adjoining shop completely engulfed in flames.
He noted that no lives were lost but confirmed that properties worth millions of naira were destroyed. Akinwande also urged residents to be more cautious and safety-conscious to prevent future fire outbreaks.
