In his keynote address, the Grand Chief Imam and President General of the League of Imams and Alfas, Epe Division, Sheikh Abiola Sadala Aliru, expressed his joy for the forthcoming holy month, emphasizing the importance of Ramadan as an opportunity to draw closer to Almighty Allah.

He urged Muslims to prepare both body and soul for the fast, stressing the need for spiritual reflection, self-discipline, and increased devotion.

“Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink; it is a time for spiritual purification, self-restraint, and compassion towards others.

I encourage every Muslim to embrace this sacred period with sincerity and dedication,” Sheikh Aliru advised.

He further recommended that Muslims undergo medical checkups to avoid health challenges during the fasting period.

“It is essential to take care of our health while fasting. Getting medical advice will help prevent any health complications and ensure a smooth and rewarding Ramadan experience,” he added.

Sheikh Aliru also called on the Muslim community to cultivate the habit of giving, especially in light of the current economic challenges facing the nation.

“This is a time to show love, care, and generosity. Sharing with those in need, no matter how little, goes a long way in spreading joy and easing burdens,” he noted.
