Tragedy struck in Abeokuta, Ogun State, as Adeniyi Oluwaseun, Acting Head of the Audit Department at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, reportedly died by suicide on Sunday.
Adeniyi, whose body was recovered from a well in the Obantoko area of the city, is said to have jumped shortly after having dinner.

His death comes just weeks before one of his children was set to marry, further compounding the sorrow surrounding the incident.
Sources revealed that Adeniyi had a history of mental health challenges, although the specifics of his condition remain undisclosed.
Segun Orisajo, the Head of Public Relations and Communication at FMC Abeokuta, confirmed the incident, describing it as a devastating loss for the hospital community.

“It is true that he committed suicide. It was an unfortunate incident. The management feels saddened about this development,” Orisajo stated.
He further described the late Adeniyi as a hardworking and loyal staff member whose death has deeply shocked the hospital’s management and staff.
“The unfortunate incident caught the entire management off guard. It is quite an irreparable loss. The management extends its heartfelt condolences to the department, as well as to the immediate and extended family members of the deceased,” he added.
