Heavily armed security operatives have besieged the court premises.
The IPOB leader was first arrested and granted bail in 2017 by Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court.
After granting him bail, Kanu fled the country to Europe over an alleged threat to his life by the Nigerian security agencies.
However, he was reportedly rearrested in Kenya, repatriated and rearraigned before Justice Nyako to continue his trial in July 2021.
