Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Arch. Audu Sule Katagum, has died at the age of 69.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Katagum passed away in the early hours of Saturday. He served as Deputy Governor of Bauchi State between 2018 and 2019 under former Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
His death was announced by Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, the digital and creative media aide to the former governor.
“Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Arch. Audu Sule Katagum, Wazirin Katagum and former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State,” he said.
“The deceased passed away in the early hours of today after a life of dedicated service to his community, Bauchi State and the nation.”
He added that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated later.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear this great loss. Ameen,” he prayed.
Katagum was a respected politician and traditional title holder, serving as the Wazirin Katagum. Before his tenure as Deputy Governor, he had served as Chief of Staff at the Bauchi State Government House.
He was the son of the late elder statesman, Alhaji Sule Katagum, who was the first Chairman of Nigeria’s Federal Public Service Commission and also held the traditional title of Wazirin Katagum.

He is survived by his wife, children, and other relatives.
His passing has been described as a significant loss to the Katagum Emirate and Bauchi State, where he was widely recognised for his contributions to governance, public service, and community development.
