Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and wife of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Baba, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Edo lawmaker announced her defection on Thursday at the NDC national headquarters in Abuja, where she joined former Gombe State Deputy Governor John Yoriyo and other political figures who also moved to the party. They were received by senior NDC leaders, including former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson.
Osawaru had earlier declared her intention to seek re-election into the Edo State House of Assembly, where she currently represents Egor Constituency. She confirmed that she will contest under the platform of the NDC in the upcoming elections.
The 31-year-old politician made the announcement through her Instagram page, where she also unveiled her campaign direction and political message. In one of her campaign materials circulating online, she playfully referred to the party acronym NDC as “Natasha Don Come.”
She described the NDC as a platform committed to people oriented governance, adding that her decision to join the party was driven by the need to bring development to her constituency and Edo State at large.
Osawaru also outlined her priorities if re-elected in 2027, stating that she would focus on youth empowerment, security, improved welfare, and stronger governance structures.

In a further political statement, the lawmaker openly declared her support for the presidential ambition of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi. She shared photos with the former Labour Party presidential candidate and urged Nigerians to rally behind him ahead of the 2027 elections.
