EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to a statement issued on Monday, the singers died after their vehicle was involved in a fatal crash along the Ikorodu/Sagamu Road. Okupe identified the deceased as Evangelist Ayodeji Kekerejesu, Evangelist Iyanu Joseph, Monjolajesu Oluwapamilerin, and Opeyemi Adesina.
She explained that the accident occurred when the gospel singers’ vehicle collided with another vehicle. All four victims, who were from the same family, reportedly died instantly at the scene.
Okupe expressed condolences to the bereaved families and urged drivers to adhere strictly to speed limits to prevent further tragedies.
In a related development, at least seven individuals lost their lives in another accident early Saturday morning at the NIPCO filling station area along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
In a statement from Abeokuta, FRSC spokesperson Florence Okupe said the crash, which occurred around 7:00 a.m., involved a Mack truck with registration number SEY 363 YY, a tanker with registration number T2900LA, and a bus bearing plate number LSD 180 YA.
Okupe reported that 15 people were involved in the crash—13 men and two women. Four individuals sustained varying degrees of injuries, while seven were confirmed dead.
She attributed the cause of the accident to excessive speeding, which led to the Mack truck driver losing control and ramming into the other vehicles.
