The Nigerian Ports Authority has disclosed that at least 43 vessels carrying petroleum products, food supplies and other cargoes are expected to arrive at major Lagos ports between May 26 and June 6, Eko Hot Blog reports.
According to the authority’s Daily Shipping Position released on Tuesday, the vessels are billed to berth at the Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tin Can Island Port.

The NPA explained that eight of the incoming vessels are container ships transporting different categories of goods, while the remaining 35 vessels are carrying products such as fresh fish, petrol, aviation fuel, diesel, bulk wheat, gasoline and general cargo.

The authority also revealed that 11 vessels and tankers have already arrived at the ports and are currently waiting for berthing approval.
According to the report, the waiting vessels are loaded with containers, gasoline, fertiliser, petrol, crude oil, diesel, condensate and bulk salt.
The NPA further disclosed that 21 vessels are presently offloading cargoes at the ports, including urea, wheat, sugar, petrol, trucks, millet, gypsum and containerised goods.
The development comes amid increasing commercial activities at Lagos ports as importers and marketers intensify supply operations across the country.
