EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident occurred at Soludo’s private residence in Isuofia, shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced his victory across all 21 Local Government Areas of the state.
Security operatives assigned to the governor reportedly released the gunshots as a show of excitement and celebration over the landslide win, which temporarily caused panic among residents in the area before normalcy was restored.
Governor Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), emerged victorious with a total of 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 99,445 votes.
Other candidates in the race recorded far lower figures:
-
Paul Chukwuma (YPP) – 37,753 votes
-
John Nwosu (ADC) – 8,208 votes
Earlier reports confirmed that Soludo had also defeated prominent candidates such as Kingsley Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) and John Chuma-Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in their own local government area, Nnewi North, solidifying his dominance across the state.

The Collation Officer for Nnewi North Local Government announced the results at the State Collation Centre on Sunday morning, officially sealing Soludo’s second-term victory as governor of Anambra State.
