EKO HOT BLOG reports that Soludo, who spoke in Awka on Sunday shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of the 2025 governorship election, thanked residents for their overwhelming show of confidence in his administration. He was re-elected alongside his deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Addressing his supporters, the governor recalled that his first victory in 2021 came with a low voter turnout. “Four years ago, you spoke and gave us your mandate. Anambra experimented with BVAS for the first time, and the turnout was extremely low. You elected us with 112,000 votes. This time, you have spoken loudly. About 22 percent of registered voters participated in this election. Never before. You broke the 20 percent glass ceiling,” Soludo said.
He noted that his latest victory placed him among the few governors in Anambra’s history to be re-elected since 1999. According to him, the scale of voter support in the 2025 election was unprecedented.
“In 2010, a governor was re-elected with about 31 percent of the votes cast. In 2017, another was re-elected with 56 percent. In this one, you re-elected us with 73 percent of the votes. I am humbled by this solidarity and support,” he said.
The governor described the outcome as the strongest expression of confidence any administration has ever received in the state. He promised to deliver more development projects and transform the state over the next four years.

Soludo added, “We applied for this job. You employed us four years ago. As we stated throughout the campaign, you have not seen anything yet. Like the Americans would say, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ With your continued support, we will take Anambra to greater heights.”
