Gunmen stormed Elyon Paradise Ministry Church in Asagba Ogwashi, Delta State, during a night vigil, shooting the pastor and kidnapping six worshippers.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the attack, which occurred over the weekend in Aniocha South Local Government Area, was confirmed by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Bright Edafe, on Sunday. “A rescue team is currently in the bush on their trail,” he stated.’
Witnesses reported that the armed assailants forcefully entered the church, took six members hostage, and escaped to an unknown location. The pastor, Apostle Divine Omodia, was shot and had two fingers severed by the attackers.
Authorities say no ransom demand has been made yet, leaving families of the abducted victims in distress. Meanwhile, the wounded pastor was rushed to a hospital, where medical personnel are working to save his life.
Security forces have intensified efforts to track down the kidnappers and secure the release of the victims.
