Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu, the lawmaker representing Epe Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has expressed gratitude to party leaders, supporters, and residents after emerging victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election held across the constituency on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Speaking with an Eko Hot Blog reporter shortly after the exercise, Ogunkelu described the primary election as one of the most peaceful APC primaries conducted in recent times, commending party members and security operatives for maintaining order throughout the process.

The APC primary election took place across various wards in Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with party faithful trooping out to cast their votes.
Ogunkelu, who currently serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Physical Planning, Urban Development, and Lagos Geographic Information System (AGIS), said the election was conducted without violence, intimidation, or unrest.
According to him, the peaceful conduct of the exercise reflects the maturity and unity within the APC in Epe Constituency II.

“The APC National Committee stated that this primary election has been one of the most peaceful so far. It was free of fights and bloodshed,” he said.
The lawmaker praised security agencies for ensuring adequate monitoring and protection during the exercise, noting that their presence contributed greatly to the success of the election.
He also expressed excitement over the turnout of party members across the eleven wards in the constituency, describing the results as “fantastic.”
Ogunkelu appreciated political leaders, party stakeholders, colleagues, and loyal supporters who stood firmly behind his ambition during the primaries.

He particularly thanked residents and supporters who dedicated their time and energy to ensure the election was successful, saying their commitment proved that financial influence alone cannot determine political victories.
“They showed that money is not everything. They gave their lives, time, and everything to make this election a success,” he stated.
The APC chieftain further assured constituents that greater dividends of democracy would follow ahead of the 2027 elections, promising to continue working for the progress and development of the constituency.
He added that his victory at the primaries would further strengthen his resolve to deliver quality representation to the people of Epe Constituency II.
Ogunkelu concluded by praying for his supporters and everyone who contributed to the success of the exercise, expressing hope that God would reward them abundantly for their sacrifices and dedication.
