As the July 12 local government elections draw near, political activities across Lagos State have reached a fever pitch,nowhere more visibly than in Eredo LCDA, where Hon. Ogunkelu Oluwadahunsi Sylvester, popularly known as Sketel, is spearheading an aggressive grassroots mobilization campaign in support of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.
Ekohotblog reports that the Lagos State House of Assembly member representing Epe Constituency II led a dynamic sensitization tour across five wards in Eredo over the weekend, rallying constituents to support Hon. Monsuru Akinloye, the APC Chairmanship candidate for Eredo LCDA, and the party’s councilorship aspirants.

Known for his people-first politics and energetic presence, Hon. Sketel urged party loyalists and residents to take full ownership of the democratic process.
“This election is not just about local governance,it is about showing strength, unity, and readiness to deliver overwhelming results in support of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Sketel declared while addressing supporters. “We must not only vote but ensure we win resoundingly.”
The lawmaker emphasized that experience and continuity should guide the community’s choice at the polls.
“Experience is better than experiment,” he stated. “The APC candidates in Eredo LCDA have proven themselves through years of committed service. This is not the time for trial and error.”
At campaign stops including Ward H1, Igbooye, and other surrounding communities, Sketel’s message resonated with large crowds chanting, “Hon. Sketel we know, Hon. Ogunkelu we trust, Hon. Dahunsi beyond 2027.”
The tour also featured official presentations of APC councilorship candidates across the wards. Local leaders and party elders joined in urging peaceful participation and solidarity in ensuring a sweeping victory.
A party stakeholder at the event remarked, “The turnout today shows the people are ready. Sketel’s leadership is not just influential; it’s inspirational.”
Eredo LCDA remains a vital electoral territory within the Epe Division, which also includes Epe and Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDAs.

With its blend of rural and peri-urban communities, voter mobilization in the area is expected to play a key role in determining the overall success of the APC in Lagos East.
According to the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), polling will commence at 8:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 12.
