EKO HOT BLOG reports that he noted that the Labour Party is currently divided into factions, and he belongs to the faction that embraced a coalition with the ADC. According to him, the coalition is aimed at uniting political parties and thinkers to build a stronger opposition force.
Rhodes-Vivour said, “The fact that I have constantly remained in the opposition throughout my political career shows more consistency than the average seen in our political circle and culture. I would not say I dumped the Labour Party because, as you know, the party is divided into two factions. One of such factions is pro-coalition, and the ADC has been adopted for this purpose. I am a registered member of the ADC now. The ADC is in alliance with the Obidients in Lagos State.”
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress in Lagos has welcomed Rhodes-Vivour’s move, describing it as a boost to the party. The state chairman, George Ashiru, praised him as a true representative of the electorate who has made a strategic decision for the future of opposition politics in the state.
