Families living in the building watched helplessly as their belongings were consumed by fire, leaving many uncertain about their next steps.
In a separate incident, a shop at Ajomole Compound, Olukoyi Street, Oja Oba, was also razed, affecting traders who depend on daily sales to support their households.
Despite the scale of destruction, there was relief that no lives were lost in both incidents.
Confirming the development, the Chairman of the Oyo State Fire Service, Maroof Akinwande, said firefighters responded promptly and were able to contain the flames before they spread further to nearby buildings.

According to him, emergency responders arrived to meet the residential building already engulfed in thick smoke but acted quickly to bring the situation under control. A similar rapid response helped prevent the fire at the shop from extending to surrounding businesses.
While the quick intervention helped limit further damage, affected residents and traders are now left to rebuild, highlighting the emotional and financial toll such incidents place on everyday people.
