- DIG Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha has been appointed to lead the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), while DIG Margaret Ochalla takes charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID).
- The reshuffle follows the recent promotion of seven senior officers to the rank of DIG to fill vacancies created by recent retirements.

A significant highlight of the posting is the assignment of DIG Fayoade Adegoke Mustapha to the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Fayoade, a former AIG of Zone 2 Lagos, is widely recognized for his expertise in technology-driven policing.
His appointment to the ICT department clarifies earlier speculations regarding his potential role in the FCID.
Instead, the leadership of the high-profile Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) has been handed to DIG Margaret Ochalla. Ochalla previously served as the AIG in charge of the FCID Annex in Lagos and brings extensive experience in criminal investigation and conflict resolution to the national headquarters.
Other key postings include:
- DIG Zachariah Fera Achinyan: Department of Legal Services (DLS)
- DIG Zango Ibrahim Baba: Department of Research & Planning (R&P)
- DIG Isyaku Mohammed: Department of Training and Development (DTD)
- DIG Mohammed Sulaiman: Department of Finance and Administration (DFA)
- DIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie: Force Intelligence Department (FID)
- DIG Umar Shehu Nadada: Department of Operations (DOPS)

The reshuffle comes amid intense political interest in the Force’s succession plan, with reports suggesting that influential figures have been lobbying the Presidency regarding the future leadership of the police.
However, the current appointments appear focused on administrative stability as the Force transitions under the leadership of IGP Disu, who assumed office in February 2026.
With these postings, the Nigeria Police Force aims to harmonize its top-tier management and enhance its response to emerging security challenges across the federation.
