The Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, made his maiden visit to Lagos State University on Monday, June 8, 2026, as the institution’s newly appointed 6th Chancellor.
Accompanied by his wife, Olori Bolanle Ogunsanwo, and a delegation of traditional rulers and dignitaries, the monarch was received by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello and the university’s management team in a warm welcome ceremony.

During the visit, Oba Ogunsanwo toured key facilities across the campus and addressed the university community, congratulating management on LASU’s emergence as the sole beneficiary of the TETFund Centre of Excellence on Artificial, Robotics and Cyber Sciences — a project worth ₦3 billion.
He pledged to deploy his office, professional experience, international connections, and royal goodwill in service of the university’s growth and global standing.
The Chancellor laid out a bold five-point vision for LASU — covering global competitiveness, research and innovation excellence, entrepreneurship, effective governance, and national development — while urging the university community to remain committed to the values of excellence, integrity, diligence, and service.
