The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has uploaded 2,897 polling unit results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, IReV.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Checks on the portal as of 7:24pm showed that 2,897 results had been uploaded out of the expected 3,763, representing 76.99 per cent of the total.
The figure represents a significant increase from the 2,266 results, or 60.22 per cent, uploaded about an hour earlier.
Data on the portal showed that the latest upload was recorded at 7:21:09pm from Polling Unit 29/08/08/001 in Ife North Local Government Area, as collation continued across the state’s 30 Local Government Areas.
The IReV platform allows voters, political parties and election observers to monitor polling unit-level results as they are uploaded by INEC.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party is seeking re-election against the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress, ADC, candidate Najeem Salaam and other contenders.
The commission’s Result Stats section continued to update as additional results were uploaded, with more figures expected as collation progresses.
