EKO HOT BLOG reports that since Friday, Israeli forces have launched sustained airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure. The attacks, which also hit residential areas and fuel depots, have killed at least 224 people and injured more than 1,200, according to Iran’s Health Ministry.

In retaliation, Tehran has fired missiles and drones into Israeli cities, killing at least 24 and wounding nearly 600, according to the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office. Iran claims its strikes targeted military commanders, security sites, and residences of high-ranking Israeli officials.
The Israeli military reported that it has destroyed one-third of Iran’s surface-to-surface missile launchers and achieved “full air superiority” over Tehran. Strikes have hit command centers of the Quds Force and key infrastructure in cities including Mashhad and Tehran. An evacuation alert was issued for Tehran’s District 3 as military operations intensified.
Iran’s armed forces vowed a “devastating response” to further Israeli attacks, with the Revolutionary Guards threatening to strike more “vital targets” until Israel’s “complete destruction.” Israeli officials have accused Iran of deliberately targeting civilians, warning of harsher reprisals.
Diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict have so far yielded little. China and Turkey called for restraint, with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offering to mediate. Erdogan also condemned Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government as a threat to global stability. U.S. President Donald Trump urged both nations to negotiate but hinted that a military clash may be inevitable.
Meanwhile, concerns over Iran’s nuclear sites have intensified. The UN’s IAEA confirmed no radiation leaks at the Natanz facility, but warned that the conflict is compromising nuclear safety.
