‘It’s Only Fair That PDP, APC Don’t Zone Presidency To North’ – Lawyer
EKO HOT BLOG Festus Ogun, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, on Thursday asked the country’s two big political parties to ignore the north, and zone the 2023 presidency to the South.
According to Ogun, that would only be a fair decision.

President Muhammadu Buhari, a northerner, is in the final years of his two-term tenure, and there are clamours for power to shift from the north to the south next year.
But Ogun is not confident both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will zone their presidency slot to the south, as he ‘doubts they will take the noble route’.
“It is only just, fair, equitable and constitutional that the Presidency is zoned to the South by the APC and PDP.
“However, I doubt they will take the noble route because APC and PDP are not committed to the peace, unity and progress of this country,” Ogun said via his known Twitter handle.
In another tweet, Ogun said rotating the president seat among the northern and southern region of Nigeria is crucial and constitutional.
“Rotational Presidency is not only desirable, it is imperative, equitable, just and constitutional.
“Our country remains a risk unless and until we address fundamental issues of social justice,” Ogun submitted.
