Ning was responding to a question about Trump’s comments threatening military intervention in Nigeria.
“As Nigeria’s comprehensive strategic partner, China firmly supports the Nigerian government in leading its people on the development path suited to its national conditions,” she said.

“China strongly opposes any country using religion and human rights as an excuse to interfere in other countries’ internal affairs or to threaten them with sanctions and force.”
The statement comes amid growing diplomatic tension after Trump announced that the US was considering military action against Nigeria over alleged religious persecution.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, shared China’s remarks on his X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, commending Beijing’s position.
Onanuga has repeatedly denied any claims of religious discrimination in Nigeria, insisting that President Tinubu’s government remains committed to protecting the rights and freedoms of all citizens, regardless of faith.
